GIVING BACK
candles lighting up lives project
This year supporting hurricane helene recovery
I realize that being able to start a candle business, especially at the age of 10, is a huge privilege. Because of this, I have chosen to donate 25% of our profits to local non-profit businesses such as animal shelters, homeless shelters, and other organizations. It is my hope that each candle can light up someones life.
This year, in 2024-25, we are giving all of our donations to local non-profits in Asheville supporting the recovery from Hurricane Helene.
Brother wolf Animal Rescue
My first donation was made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. I was a volunteer at Brother Wolf when I was 4 years old and have always loved supporting the animals in need. I was honored and excited to make our first Mountain Light Candles donation to Brother Wolf.
Western Carolina Rescue Minestry
I was honored to make a contribution to WNRM. My dad and I have been volunteering at this organization the last few years providing meals for the homeless population in Asheville. Due to Covid we have not been able to volunteer lately so this was a way to give back and help light up the lives and support those in need.
*This was a post they made on their Instagram...thanks for the shout out Jessica and WNRM :)
It was so special to make a donation to Riverlink and have a meeting with Executive Director, Lisa Raleigh. Riverlink is responsible to taking care of the rivers in Asheville and Western North Carolina. I am so passionate about the environment and hoping that this connection can help to support their mission.

Beloved Asheville
It was an honor to meet Debbie Alford at BeLoved Asheville. BeLoved is working on an exciting housing project in Asheville where they will be building a new community of affordable furnished houses. We are excited that MLC will be donating candles to help furnish these new homes.
